BZ Consulting supervises the unloading of the VLCC MT New Corolla in Talcahuano

Last week, BZ Consulting had the privilege of carrying out the Loss Control service on the MT New Corolla, a VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier), in Talcahuano. This ship has transported three (3) types of Crude Oil from Brazil: Bauna Crude, Tupi Crude and Mero Crude. This large-scale operation requires a lot of precision and accuracy in each of the control activities carried out, characteristics with which the BZ Consulting staff stands out in each service it carries out.

Highlights of the MT New Corolla:

VLCC - Very Large Crude Carrier, one of the largest crude oil transport vessels in the world.
Dimensions: 333 meters long and 60 meters wide.
Capacity: More than 2 million barrels of crude oil (more than 300,000 m3)

Our role in this operation:

In this important maneuver, our team was in charge of:

Supervising the measurement of H2S and sampling of the ship’s cargo tanks.
Verifying the condition and operation of the sampling and measurement instruments on board.
Calculating the quantities of each product on board and consolidating these calculations with the Surveyor and the First Officer of the ship.
Verifying compliance with international standards and the client’s instructions applicable in this operation.

Protecting our client’s interests, ensuring maximum accuracy in the sampling process, in the measurement of crude oil and impurities and in the calculated volumes, as they determine the value of the commercial transaction involved.
