BZ in Action: 3D Scanner Training for Tank Calibration
BZ in Action:
The BZ team is trained in the use of 3D Scanner for the development of Geomatics and Tank Calibration Services.
Last week, a technical training session was held for BZ staff, delivered by specialists from the company Realtek, in Santiago.
The training focused on the usage processes of the Leica BLK 360 G2 3D Laser Scanner, its operation, and the processing of data obtained in the field. This equipment has been recently acquired by BZ, and with this, we start the development and implementation process of our Topographic and Geomatics Services area.
This process also involves the development of 3D laser technology to apply it in the Calibration of Storage Tanks, which we currently perform using Total Station Laser.
Although the use of 3D scanners for calibrating storage tanks does not yet have an internationally accepted methodology or standard (API / ISO), there are committees working on it, which means we will have proper regulations in some time.
Why does it matter?
It strengthens the capabilities and knowledge of our staff. It improves the reliability of our clients by enhancing our procedures and services. It contributes to safer and more efficient operations, reducing operational times and increasing accuracy in our reports.
We thank REALTEK for the training provided. We remain committed to the transfer of knowledge and the continuous improvement of technical skills in the sector.
