DYNAMIC MEASUREMENTS COURSE FOR THE BZ TEAM

Last Thursday (July 6) we had an interesting training day, for the Talcahuano BZ Team, on Dynamic Measurements and operation of Provers (Bidirectional Calibrator), online automatic samplers and ultrasonic and turbine flow meters, by the Argentine specialist Federico Bianchi, who was the main international advisor during the process of re-design and updating of the measurement systems that are currently operating in the OTC Terminal (Trasandino Chile Oil Pipeline), in the reception of Argentine crude oil from Vaca Muerta (Neuquén) and make up what is called a LACT Unit (Lease Automatic Custody Transfer Unit). BZ Consulting has been appointed by OTC to provide the measurement and certification service of quantity and quality of crude oil received from Argentina. In this project we have been supporting OTC for more than a year, when we just started talking about the future reactivation of the Trasandino Oil Pipeline, after a period of almost 17 years without operating. Many national and international specialists and companies collaborated in the review process, technological modernization and implementation of these automatic measurement systems. Finally, around May 15, pumping from Argentina began and since that moment our BZ Team has been daily carrying out its inspection, sampling, measurement and calculation tasks. Along with this, we have developed, with the help of specialists in the field, a state-of-the-art reportability system, which today allows our client to have online information and the possibility of generating different types of reports and graphs to control daily the movement of the Pipeline.El jueves de la semana pasada (6 de Julio) tuvimos una interesante jornada de capacitación, para el Equipo BZ de Talcahuano, sobre Mediciones Dinámicas y operación de Provers (Calibrador Bidireccional), muestreadores automáticos en línea y medidores de flujo ultrasónicos y de turbina, a cargo del especialista argentino Federico Bianchi, quien fue el principal asesor internacional durante el proceso de re-diseño y actualización de los sistemas de medición que actualmente están operando en el Terminal OTC (Oleoducto Trasandino Chile), en la recepción del crudo argentino procedente de Vaca Muerta (Neuquén) y conforman lo que se denomina una Unidad LACT (Lease Automatic Custody Transfer Unit). BZ Consulting ha sido designado por OTC para proveer el servicio de medición y certificación de cantidad y calidad del crudo recibido desde Argentina. En este proyecto hemos estado apoyando a OTC desde hace más de un año, cuando recién se comenzó a hablar de la futura reactivación del Oleoducto Trasandino, después de un período de casi 17 años sin operar. Muchos especialistas y empresas nacionales e internacionales colaboraron en el proceso de revisión, modernización tecnológica y puesta en marcha de estos sistemas de medición automáticos. Finalmente, alrededor del 15 de Mayo comenzó el bombeo desde Argentina y desde ese momento nuestro Equipo BZ ha estado diariamente realizando sus labores de inspección, muestreo, medición y cálculo. Junto con ello, hemos desarrollado, con la ayuda de especialistas en la materia, un sistema de reportabilidad de última generación, el cual permite hoy a nuestro cliente contar con la información en línea y la posibilidad de generar distintos tipos de reportes y gráficas para controlar diariamente el movimiento del Oleoducto.
